Where did you go and how did you do? I took my shotgun and fly rod hoping to do double duty. Went one for four on a local creek and a big goose egg on the turkey.

Hit the Feather with Jeff F. Some nice fish. Sore. Very very sore.

No polartecs under the waders in the afternoon. Felt so good!

I think you guys might be doing it wrong. I stayed home, drank beer and grilled up a bunch of last seasons quail. Life is good. Ed

I figured you boys would be going there for the opener. Forget trout, I've got shad fever bad!

69356936Went up to Dunsmuir on Sat. nite. Winds were howling on Sunday so we took the boat out to Lake Siskiyou and fished one of the calmer coves. 22 bow's caught & released on my bead headed crystal bugger. Fish were on the grab all day. Probably lost 20 more with our barbless hooks or whatever other reason. Got my best one ever out of Siskiyou, did not weigh this one, but the girth was huge.
Fished hard on Monday in high but fishable water on the upper Sac., but again the winds were howling and we left early with only about 6 fish to hand between Steven and I.

Spent Saturday to Tuesday fishing two creeks between Highways 36 and 32, out of Chico and Redbluff. Both fished well. No big fish, but LOTS of 8-11". Two in my group had a bear sighting along Ponderosa Rd, outside Black Rock. Mama with two cubs. Great weather and fishing. Winds picked up Tuesday morning and cut the trip short

Rafdawg, I've seen several bears between Mill and North Antelope. Seem to be more recently than say 15 yrs ago. Beautiful country! Rugged fishing at its finest. Wet waders paradise.

Took Pontoon LS Sat - tough in toon at 11 CPS. Had 4 good fish to hand but not as big as last outing a month ago - water was too ast to get a decent drift and control in my one man. Folks on ramp seemed to have quiet time though I saw one guided boat into quite a few fish.

On Sun hit Upper Sac, only had time for one access point - landed two good 16 inch fish and another smaller one plus few missed and one break off.
