Fished the Lower Sac Friday and Saturday. The river is still fishing well but the word has definitely spread. It is crowded out there especially on the upper floats. Friday we spent some time fishing one run in particular and we saw more adult Stones than I have seen in a long time. From 3pm on the fish were on a solid rubber leg grab. I think I fish a little different pattern than most guys but the fish were on them.
Saturday the wind was blowing in the morning that made it a challenge but when you could get a good drift in the right water the fish cooperated. Hot bugs Saturday were different PMD patterns and Rubberlegs.
Hopefully after the trout opener some of the crowds will thin out on the Sac otherwise try to make friends out there!
On a sad note it was really disturbing to see a number of guides obviously fishing for spawning trout. Stay away from the shallow riffles. Let the fish do their thing !!!!
