Had a customer in today who had good fishing on a group trip with Jeff Bright to the Nicholas Dean Lodge.

Fishing on the Skeena was excellent the week before last. The river was low, steelhead green and Scandi lines with polyleaders were all that was necessary. Being the large river it is 100'+ casts were often necessary to cover the water adequately so we used nine weights primarily - and it was a good thing. The fish were large, aggressive and fresh from the salt. My 9145 Burkie saw most of the action and the 7134, my favorite rod, stayed in the tube except for one day on the Copper.

WE had two doubles out of the same run on different days and the largest fish was a 25 lb. buck caught by one of our group. My best was a 20 lb. hen that wouldn't give up, even in the net, so we let her loose without the standard hero shot (pictured in the net below).

Haha. I'd say that's excellent!

Those fish are awesome. Musta put a big bend even in that huge rod!
