Hello everyone,
I just ordered a Beulah 5117. Does anyone have any experience with this rod? I also ordered a 330 grain Rage to fish with it. I'm wondering what reels you've used with it, since it is a little bit of an odd duck. I'm think Hardy Salmon 1. I will be mainly using it as a dry line spey for the Rogue.
thanks!
Jeremy

Good line choice and reel. I have an old 3 7/8 Perfect on my 5119. The new Taupo is a couple ounces heavier than the Salmon 1, but you might take a look.

A very nice rod....

I use a Ross CLA 4 or an Abel Switch for reels. For lines an SGS 310 @ 28', 330 Rage, Ambush 8, or the Elixir 300....

I really like the Airflo Skagit switch on this rod. I use a lamson Guru 3.5. I have also used an Airflo 300 scandi for nymphing. This rod is a great choice on the Lower yuba river.
