Hello CFFU:

At our Tuesday, April 2nd membership meeting Megan Hertel will be speaking
on how 65 miles of the San Joaquin River from Fresno to the Delta is
underway. The Sacramento Bee ran an article and photos on page A3 today. I
heard Megan speak several months ago. I know you will find her a
knowledgeable and effective speaker on one of the largest and most
multifaceted river restoration projects of our lifetime.

Don't miss this opportunity to be brought up to date on a timely current
important project affecting fish and fishing right here in the Central
Valley.

I have fished the lower SJ river and there a some stripers in those waters. The waters in that area are off color so it's not sight fishing by any means. Also, there are some big carp in those sloughs that feed off the SJ. I plan on doing a float trip of about 7 miles to really get the feel for this body of water.. F&G has done some electroshocking in this section of the river and it's amazing what they found. There are also salmon that go up the river during certain times of the year.
I'd like to come hear this program. I'll see if the local club (Fresno FF) will bring in this person to speak.
