The Lower Sac continues to fish really well. I fished with Gary from the Bay Area on Thursday. We saw big changes in the weather. The day started very cloudy and pretty cool. The bugs didnt come out until after 1pm. When they did the fish went on the bite. We landed some really nice fish.
Fished Friday with Rick and Fred. Both of these guys were experienced anglers which was good as there was an unexpected flow increase of 1800 cfs over night. The increase in flows made things tough. We went through some slow periods but we also had several hours that were great. I found that if we slowed down and really focused on accurate casts and really good drifts we were able to hook fish. We lost several VERY nice fish on Friday.
All in all a couiple of very good days on the river. Thanks to Gary, Rick and Fred for spending the day with me. Hope we can do it again. Hot bugs, Rubberlegs, King Prince, PMDs.
