Went with Jeff and Jerry today. Pronghorn is a pay lake located about 40 miles east of Klamath Lake, Oregon. About 150 acres and all catch and release with barbless hooks. We must have hooked at least 40 fish up to 12 pounds. A typical fish is about 22-23"s. About 80% on chironomid s and 20% on leeches. A true bluebird day for Eastern Oregon. These were extremely clean and robust fish. Below Jeff is holding Jerry's 12 pound fish. I got one pushing 10 pounds.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/gordonl/image_zps5ca20876.jpg

Whats it cost to "play". We just got back from Eagle Canyon where we got some nice fish, but was a bit dissapointed on how small the lakes (ponds) were. 150 acres sounds much nicer. Being private, do they require an Oregon fishing lic.? Nice Fish!!

Cost is $125/half day and $185 for full day. On the full day rate you fish from noon to noon and have overnight accommodations in one of their cabins which are very nice. Not sure on the requirement for an Oregon license.

Gordon, you got my attention for sure. Not too much of a fee to play for pigs. Well, I'm putting this one on the bucket list - Thanks for the info.

Pronghorn is a wonderful place. The fish are all Kamloops rainbows and they are fat and healthy fish this time of year. The overnight fishing program of theirs works out really nice for guys that drive a long way to get there.
Our groups have landed trout to 20 pounds there (yes I know that's a big boy). The owner Mike said he planted a few 20 pounders in there and my buddy definitely landed one of them. It's worth the trip up there for sure.
