I went out into the garage last week to check on what line I have in mine, discovered it had fallen out of the cupboard and had broken off one side of the foot  I'd buy a new reel but I've got 4 spools so I'm "invested" in this one.

Looking for either frame only or complete reel in good, but not necessarily perfect condition.

PM me here or at wineslob1104@comcast.net

Walt,
You might try Bill Archuleta. Think he's in Oregon. An absolute master at reel repair.
Best,

Send me $30 total and I will mail you a good frame.

Is it the click-n-pawl or the disc drag?

I have the click-n-pawl.

At one time the Scientific Angler 'System One' model 456 and 789 were the 'go to reels', just like the Pflueger 'Medalist' before it.

They were made by Diawa for SA.

Mike Williams caught a 40# Tarpon on one in Venezuela. It sounded like a chainsaw.......

Chris Pasley caught Steelhead for two weeks on the Dean River with his 789.

I think at one time we all fished them. Most were 'Made in Japan'. The last run was in Korea and were not as good.

Today though Korea makes fantastic machined fly reels.

I have some I have been saving/collecting with spools for the grand kids.

Every decade there are those good value really popular fly reels.

The last while it was the Orvis Battenkill MidArbor.

Awesome! It'll be good to see you. I'll be in around 1:00.

Ya, I'll have to admit it's the best "cheap" (price) reel I've ever owned..............until I bought a mid 60's JW Young 3 1/2" Beaudex. That thing is built like a tank, and the sound of the clicker.....is perfect.
