Got invited to fish some GOOD Largemouth Bass water over the weekend. What a treat! I had pretty much brought the whole tackle box out on the tube with me to make sure I had all the bases covered, but ended up fishing a size #2 black Rainy's Rattlin' Frog 95% of the time. That is my favorite popper. It has a great "bloop", and can also be fished very quietly. Was using straight #20 Maxima clear tippet, Rio OBS floater, and a #8 Redington Predator. A couple pics:

I think it is pond time first...........

Matt...it is good to have connections. Being in the tackle business my entire life I have had some wild invites too.

This place was in your neck of the woods. Get out there and get after it in any pond or shallow lake around the bay and it should be good. I have heard there are great opportunities in many of the numerous ponds in the wine country. Just have to get on one of them somehow....

Bigger than the photos suggest. The pics were from some hot fishing in one of the coves of this big pond/small lake. This place has a ton of shoreline for its size given all the tantilizing nooks and cranny's to explore with a bass bait. It would take all day for two guys to fish their way around it and then you could probably start all over.... Bass Heaven.....

Yeah Chuck. We need to to get together. Its almost striper time on the river. Give me a call in a few weeks and we can go bang some rock walls!
