First place I would try is smaller ponds that warm up sooner.

Scott Vaugh is right on top of this going yesterday to Cameron Park Pond.

I would say that afternoons would be good with the most warming on a sunny calm day soon.


Remember that our LMB expert Kevin Doran says that May is his favorite month for top water large mouth bass in the Delta.


I just spent 6 weeks fishing bass almost daily in Florida and when ever we had a calm day or two of warm sun we had better fishing.

I fished our local 100 acre lake last Friday. I saw a high temp of 63. Plenty of males were cruising shallow water. Its time.
