The material for this fly is from J Son, a Swedish company and only carried in a few places in the US. Very pricy but the bug looks like it could crawl away. I have talked to Adam about the potential for stocking at Kiene's.

Holy stones Mike! Do you have a write up on how you tie these?

Pretty cool pattern, huh? Contact John Ryzanich of ICON Products. He has been tying these stoneflies at shows for awhile. I could swear he has a write up for his technique.

..when we were fishin' late last fall in one of our secret trout runs. He's explained to me how he ties them but to date I haven't tied any.. No time and now I'm operatin' with one hand so it'll be a while before I attempt any tyin'! As far as I know John hasn't developed any write up on tyin' them yet. Be patient!:) All good things require time and some kind of sacrifice!
P.S. Maybe this should have been a separate post... I didn't mean to hi-jack the thread! Sorry about that! :o

I think I have John's stonefly recipe and instructions in a PDF format on an older/retired computer at work. I'll rummage around the files to see if I can find it. It might be copyrighted, if I recall correctly, meaning I'll have to get permission from John Ryzanich prior to posting it. Best to contact John through ICON Products.
