Been itchin way to long to head north and get into some big bows. Well the time finally came this last weekend and man was it worth it. My middle brother an I grabbed the Minnie Motorhome and were rolling out of town by 11:00 on Friday Got hooked up with a killer guide and proceeded to have one of the best days of Fly-fishing I have ever had in California. I have to say that no matter how good an angler, no matter where or how many times you have fished a river, there is still a lot to learn...due to Matt's knowledge of the river and his techniques we easily doubled our catch. I outfished my brother 5-2 till Matt rigged him up right then we went fish for fish all day including three double hook ups.

This is how I got to start the trip...

Could not have had a better trip with any better company. If you have ever thought about headin up that way you need to track Matt down he knows his stuff big time. A huge thanks again for an epic day.

Cool variations in spot patterns on those fish. I was thinking the same thing as Jay, who's wearing shorts today? It was frikkin' cold down here so I'm pretty sure it had to be mighty chilly up there on the water.

What an awesome report, hope I can do the same next weekend. Two of my fishing buds and I are fishing Lake Siskiyou or McCloud on Saturday, Lower Sac on Sunday, and just for some giggles, fishing Eagle Canyon on Monday. Thanks for a great report!! Got me fired up for next weekend. I'll report when I get back and download the photos.

Josh,

Actually we did two floats. We did a cocktail float From Posse to Bonny Friday night for about 3 hours, then on Saturday we floated from Bonny to Anderson. There was very little boat traffic as well.

Josh,

Rubber Legs and Small Mayfiles were the key, we did stick a few on Eggs but only a handful. The last I heard form up there is that the Caddis are starting to get going good.

Dan thanks man, I know I keep saying it but we need to fish together soon.
