All, There is a Sac Bd of Sups meeting tonight at Ancil Hoffman (address and time below). One of the subjects being addressed is the approval of "improvements" to the Upper Sunrise boat ramp, already the best launch on the Lower American.
The "improvements" include paving of the existing gravel parking area (which isn't a horrible idea, though not the most important spending on the parkway) and removal of 270 trees between the ramp and the overflow parking parking that is currently an open area just up the road between the road and the river.
For those who just wish we could get a few hundred more rafts on the river in the summer, and /or would rather see fewer trees and more blacktop rather than spending all our surplus public funds on, say, more ranger patrols, you're good. If you're not keen on this idea, though, please either email your county supe or, better yet, come to the meeting and voice your opinion.
