Got a little tired of blanking on the American so I thought I would try my hand at trout fishing again. The creek was at about 122 cfs and had a slight green color to the water and the baetis were about. Landed three nice fish and had a few more takers. I wanted to try some euro nymphing with my 10.5 3 wt. greys, turned out to be a great stick for that river. The fish took a #16 bwo nymph and the other two were on a size 10 black stone. Check out the second fish's fins, there were some funky parasite like thinks wiggling on them!

Putah Creek trout are always good looking fish. Was the fishing bleeding on the fins where those parasites were? I new there was winter stones but never heard of anyone with success. I've seen them really small, like size 18-14. Size 10 is surprising.

no blood that I could remember, but they were on all of its fins. I wasn't suspecting the size ten to work either, it was my heavy anchor for the deep fast water I was fishing.
