"The happiest lot of any angler would be to live somewhere along the banks of the Rogue River, most beautiful stream of Oregon. Then, if he kept close watch on conditions, he could be ready on the spot when the run of steelhead began."

__Zane Gray, "Where Rolls the Rogue"

Wonder if Zane knew I was here?

Heh. I was thinking exactly of you, Gordon!

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For she to-day that sheds fish blood with me
Shall be my brother; be she ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle her condition:
And gentlemen in California now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their out-of-state-licenses cheap whiles any speaks
That fished with us upon Saint Crispin's day.

Henry,

Such a speech will surely steel our resolve and head us in the right direction, but must there be bloodshed?

OK, Sisyphus, a revised edition:

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For she to-day that spares fish blood with me
Shall be my brother; be she ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle her condition:
And gentlemen in California now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their out-of-state-licenses cheap whiles any speaks
That fished with us upon Saint Berner's day.

Staying for a month or more in the fall right on the banks of the Klamath, Trinity or Rogue Rivers would be cool....
