Well I just got back from a stint down in the everglades, wow that place is vast. My friend operates a guide service down there out of Chokoloskee, which puts you right in the heart of it all, closer than any other guide service available. I had multiple shots at double digit snook everyday and more reds than you can shake your stick at. Oh did I mention there were tarpon too, these puppies were out and about every day that the water temps were hitting 75. Very cool sight fishing and got one backcountry slam(Tarpon, Redfish, Snook) while I was there, and two other days I was only one fish away from hitting again. We found multiple groups of rolling tarpon in the 20 to 90 pound range and the occasional laid up fish as well. Definitely a place to consider if you want to feel like you own the place and toss flies at fish that do not see much pressure. Check out my buddies website for more information or feel free to shoot me a message if you want to hear more.
