I have an old Scott Powr-ply rod serial number is k86-1268 in great condition two piece 8.5'. I am not really sure what the price would be? There is an old post of mine on here that has a bunch of info from this rod. Make an offer.

This rod has original tube and sock, and is in perfect condition. Never fished, maybe casted a few times. Sent it back to Manchester and the rod shop guys wanted to buy it. They told me it was worth $800...

So I would like to get somewhere near that, make me some offers. Only reason I am selling is so that I can pick up some guns before I can't...

Would like to sell them on here first rather than ebay.

Is this rod the "G"? Line size?

Sorry, thought the pictures were of the Orvis 'Boo rod. It's glass, correct?

Yes it's a glass rod...and a pretty valuable one at that.

That Scott F86 was built in our first shop on Cook Street in San Francisco 1976 or perhaps 1975. It was sold as a kit and wrapped/finished by the buyer (hence the K in front of the serial number instead of an F). Signature is in Harry Wilson's hand. A very nice casting glass rod, albeit a tad heavier than comparable Winstons and Claudios. Value seems to be all over the place on older yellow glass Scotts, with some, mostly in the lighter line weights and especially those in 4 and 5 piece configurations, going for insane amounts of money. The old Scott case is collectible too.

What line size is it?

The rod is a 7wt. I have a 1975 F81 that Harry built and Larry generously re-wrapped the guides for me several years ago. The F81 is marked a 6wt and it is in fact a 6wt. Other yellow glass Scotts from this era I have handled were best lined with the scribed line weights, thus in my experience Harry and Larry rated their blanks appropriately.
