Putah Creek Tours 2013

The Putah Creek Tours have been simply awesome, and with the overwhelming response from everyone we have added two more tours for the upcoming winter.

January 26, 2013 and March 7, 2013 ~ $145 per person limited to 3 anglers

The last tour we had a great group of guys that had fun, learned and well - acted like a bunch of college guys out having a good time. They had a real desire to learn as well as to fish. One of the guys I placed on a little run – between two flats. I gave him a crash course on the run and a couple of pointers on how to high stick. I had just turned to go back up to the creek side trail when I heard him screaming – Lance, Lance, Lance!!! I went back quickly and found him fighting a beautiful wild fish. He was hooked on Putah!! Isn’t that right Jose?

The tour is a wonderful way to get to know the creek quickly. Access areas, wading safety, fly-fishing techniques and top flies are all discussed. We also talk about the fragile environment and policies being debated in Sacramento that will enhance and hurt the creek.

Bill,

Thank you for all your help. Kirsten & I appreciated everything you and Marilyn have done for us.

We have reached a mile stone last month by having our 100 person in a fly-fishing tour program which is huge since we only started this program little over a year ago.

As you mentioned above the tours are a great way to get to know a new piece of water or techniques used there. Since we sent out the announcement of the new Putah Creek Tours. We have booked 2 people in each tour. That means we only have one spot in each tour. So if you are sitting out there - thinking this would be a great tour - signed up for it today!

As always Kirsten, Taylor, Garrett and I would like thank and wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

Maybe if they can stop the mercury problems. I was in a governmental building and saw mercury reports for Putah Creek. Wasn't allowed to touch them so I have no real idea what they said. But I did see Putah Creek and mercury report in the title.

Mercury is only a problem if you eat the fish... The interdam region from Lake Berryessa to the top of Lake Solano is all catch and release. Lake Solano and the Lower Creek around Davis is where you will find bass and panfish that you should not eat. http://www.gfredlee.com/SJR-Delta/PutahHgMineSummary.pdf The only people that the mercury will hurt are the poachers on Putah...
The problem with mercury is much worse on Cache Creek, the Delta and the Bay where people are allowed to eat the fish.

A couple of my friends & I did Lance's Putah Creek tour this past spring. Very informative & well worth the cost of admission if you're thinking about signing up. You won't be disappointed.
