It never did jump the banks but if we'd had any snow on the ground like we did back in 97' she'd of gone over.

Compared to other rivers these pics make the upper Feather fork look peaceful :)

I wonder if anyone has any of the American Forks and Truckee area.

I'd love to see some pictures of the other rivers in the area anyone would like to share. I've often wondered what the fish do during these flood stages particularly on the smaller freestone streams like Jamison Creek, Nelson Creek where cover is at a minimum?

Hey Pete,

Thanks for posting the pics. When the MFFR floods I like to go down to Camp Layman just for the fact you've got the added flow from Jamison creek to really make things interesting. My understanding about where the fish go during high water (and please for those that know for sure correct me) is on the very bottom of the river and the side water where the flow is slowest. I've also heard that if you have rolling rocks you have dead fish. Who knows for sure?

I'll be up for another Lake Davis trip this coming weekend, I'll call or stop by the cabin. It's always a pleasure talking trout with you.

That's what I'm talking about! I've seen the water level at the tops of the concrete pillars before, New Years day of 05 I believe. Thanks for sharing those pics.

That lazy little river can really get going with the right conditions. Two Rivers is another spot where Jamison Creek merges with the Feather that can really get going. Back in 09' I can remember watching trees, big trees up to 50ft, floating by like match sticks. The power is almost beyond belief. That was the year she took out the Sloat Bridge.

By all means stop by Jon and warm up here at the cabin...should be a good weekend for the lake. I wonder if this last storm put any water in Eagle?
