Any speculation as to why the 2012 Salmon run was one of the best in years???

On a quick trip to the upper Eel about 6 miles below the first bridge below Lake Philsbury I was able to see hundreds, if not thousands, of salmon stacked up in every pool and run....good to see. Good run due to more escapement and better conditions?

I think on hting is that we had very healthy ocean conditions fo the last 3-4 years. Currents were just right to bring lots of food to our coast.
