View Full Version : Jason Hartwick has had a good fall Steelhead season...........

.........guiding and teaching on the Klamath and Trinity Rivers.

He has just had his first break with the recent high water and called be to chat.

He said there were more wild fish this year with lots of top water action skating dries with more twitching action.

Jason mostly uses around 12'6" #6 line Spey rods with the new Airflo Rage head and a long tapered mono leader on these rivers in the fall.

He said he will be back on the Klamath and Trinity Rivers soon for a few more weeks.


Then about mid-December he will move to the Eureka/Eel River area in his travel trailer in an RV park for the big hot winter-runs over that way. It is 'weather permiting' fly fishing.....and not for everyone.


He spent his summer again at Hoodoo Lodge in Alaska, Spey casting for fresh run salmon right near the saltwater.
