For sale is a Hardy Perfect 4" Salmon Wide Drum. This pre-war reel was made in Alnwick and has the rotating round line guard, duplicated Mark II check, wide black handle, and ribbed brass reel foot.
This reel is in excellent mechanical condition, with no spool wobble, no unnatural play, and feels tight throughout. The pawls are in good shape and provide a nice consistent click. There is a line on the reel which looks to be of the same pre-war vintage. It appears to be in decent shape, but is old so I won't make any guarantees.
Cosmetically, the reel is in very good condition. There is some dirt/grime that should be easily removable with a basic cleaning, especially on the inside. There are some light scratches on the side plates and small dings around the rim of the reel frame. The only larger cosmetic flaws are a fairly deep line groove on the edge of the reel frame near the round line guard along with a few smaller grooves, and then several light grooves on one side of the line guard itself. Please check out the pictures below for the best representation of the reel's condition.
