Its safe to say the fall migration is passed. Theres a couple lingering robins and blackbirds but the bulk of the feathers belong to residents. The pre-winter frenzy is intense and the bird feeders are emptying quickly.
Chickadees, Nuthatches, Woodpeckers and Jays are the star attractions now. I imagine if I hit the road with my camera thered be good numbers of raptors around.
I have huge colonies of the above mentioned species.
Not too thrilled with all the out of focus junk in this shot but the quality of the bird made it a keeper for me.(red breasted Nuthatch)

This tiny Golden Crowned Kinglet hopped thru the scene but I had a bugger of a time getting on him. This was the best I could do.
