Bring a Sherpa!
I recently fished Battle Creek (private water from The Fly Shop). Beautiful area. But like the name says it all..it is a Battle to find the River once you get there and down a steep canyon. Bring a handheld GPS if you have it. We caught some good fish, but frankly a bit too much of a hike (for this guy anyway and son). It kicked my Butt hiking out. The river is thru a volcanic valley and field of rocks. Hiking along the river between fishing spots was not easy. Once you hike down the canyon, don't think about coming out soon and bring a lunch. 4WD and high clearance is a must on the lower Spring Ranch and No Mans hole. Like the website says, it is not for the faint of heart. If you are looking for something that does not get much pressure...this is it. I need the treadmill now!
