High country pack trips for trout.....

Kennedy Meadows Pack Station is only 3 hours from our fly shop.

Reds Meadow Pack Station in Mamoth Lakes, CA is about 4.5 hours from our shop.


They both have fun video clips on their web sites.


We have had group trips with both of these great old pack stations.

Next summer you should get some family and friends together and set up a trip in August when it is very hot here in the valley.

Myself, Andy Guibord, and John Hogg have hosted these group trips in the past.

Maybe we will have another group trip next summer.

These trips will take you up to 8,000 - 10,000 feet where somehow we have not screwed it all up.

I did a spot trip (where they drop you off in a spot and pick you up at a set date later) with Red's Meadows. I had them drop us off in the Garnet / Thousand Island lake area. The fishing was good, we caught lots of decent size rainbows. I wish I had them pack in my float tube and waders though.

And it was good the fish cooperated because we lost half of our food to bears the first night.
