Remember to swing below the power lines do to river closure. Id love to go, but fighting the flu right now.

Upper part of the Lower American River is closed for salmon spawning (Nov 1 - Dec 31) from Hazel Avenue Bridge downstream to the power lines at lower end of Ancil Hoffman Park.

To be safe, from Goethe Park / River Brend Park downstream is open year round.

I was stopped by Park Rangers as I was about to start fishing at Sunrise Park on Saturday morning. Didn't read the regs :-( lucky for me I didn't get a ticket.

Drove down to River Bend park and fished below the footbridge. Saw lots of salmon spawning there too.
