I found them!

Of course there's really only one place where this could have happened. Needless to say, I had a good day.

Pics of a few and tonight's dinner! :)

These fillets clearly show how rarely I keep and dress fish! :o

I JUST snuck in and out before the weather shut down the passes. There were snowflakes flying as I drove home last night! Timing is everything...

Sweet! Those are some well-fed brookies, and I can see that they fed you well, too. Those are my favorite for eating on the rare occasions I harvest a few myself. I know the lake you were at, I've only been there once, but all I left with is a skunk. Glad you did so well.

Cheers!

A lot of people have left there smelling like skunk Dave. Even when others were catching. So welcome to the club.

Pettry sure I now it as well. If it's the one I'm thinking of, they have some equally large cutties, too!
Always done well there in the fall.

SHig,
Those are beauties. Their fall colors rival the trees. Those are a bit bigger
than the ones I chase on Fishigan's upper Black river. Thanks for sharing.
Best,

I chose to hoof it this time. Go there in the dark and riding would have been a challenge and really only get me there maybe 30 minutes sooner? Not worth the hassle.

A few others showed up through the day but it never really got too crowded like the last time I went.

Yup, we'll have to hook up again at Frenchman or Davis before the freeze.

I have always heard that very early and very late in the season was best for that particular Brook trout destination.

Andy Guibord liked to go in there very early in the day and fish for about an hour, then leave for other places down that way.

SHig, did you pack in a tube? I know the banks aren't usually very accessible but I don't see any waders in those pics.

I did pack a tube, but never inflated it. This was one of maybe just a few places where you could fish from shore, certainly the widest I could see...
