Simms makes felt solde shoes again and others do too.
Many still prefer them, just be sure to disinfect them between different fisheries.
There are some places in the world that have outlawed felt.
Not California as of yet.

**We have discovered that it is neccessary to use some AquaSeal cement on the threads of studs as you screw them into your felt soles so they don't easily fall out.
