Hit the Delta today with Bryce T. We launched out of Wimpys at dark and headed up the Moke to some spots that in the past have produced some good early morning top-water action. We pounded the area for an hour with not a single rise or grab. We saw some bait jumping and some fish crashing but they did not want anything we threw at them. Plugged in the burrito warmer and made a big move to the middle grounds. 20 minutes later we pulled up to a favorite rock wall of mine and marked a good school of fish right away. We launched a few casts with our Rio lines (T-11 and OB-S6) with medium sized clousers tied on and immediately the "Party" was on. Bryce was kill'n it for quite some time with fish after fish after fish. We would lose one school and then drift a bit and find another school. We stayed in the general area for an hour and a half and had 30 plus (we lost count we were having so much fun) to the boat. The 63-64 degree water made for great grabs and hard fighting fish, more than half of which were keepers or near keepers. We found a few in the 5 to 7 pound range. Indian summer was in full effect with warm temps and NO wind. We could have hooked many more but Bryce had to go to work. We left 'em biting and made the long run home and was off the water by 1 P.M. This fall has been a blast. No giants but tons of fun. Get Out There if you have a chance.
