Love the photo of the Lab. He certainly looks dignified. Must be a great buddy.... :D

Thanks for those neat shots, Rob. I've "lived" with two labs, and if there's a "dog heaven,"
I know exactly what they're doing.
Best,
Larry S

we didn't get any ducks that day weather was too good and my back and neck started bothering me so we went home . Jake my lab is so loving and smart . funniest part about duck hunting is watching him retrieve ,Though he's 5 years old he's still full of energy and act like a pup , You can't keep him out of the water . He has to sniff every decoy going in and out . He;s family , no kennel for him .

Great shots...no he's not spoiled...I spent many a day sitting in the snow waiting for ducks to come in with my last golden FeatherRiverSam, my board name. They're special memories...thanks for sharing the pictures.

picked up a CZ O/U two weeks ago for Jason . i shoot a over under sooooo much better than any other shotgun . they balance so nicely . I had a Stoeger before and loved it , needed some cash and sold it . You can't beat them for the money . The new stoegers have better lookng wood . just picked one up today . Coldest i hunted duck in was - 8 below . had to hunt moving water . shot two geese then my pump froze and had to go home . oil get very thick at that temp and steel shrinks .sometime no open water is available.

this is the upper bear river coming out of southern idaho , in Utah . Its deep but moves slow .It was -14-18 below for a week in January . January is the coldest week where we live . thenit 20-30's the next two months .

this was the week we came back for my mom's funeral , two years ago , it was freezing in sacramaento , the cold and humidty mad me colder than the dry cold weather here . There was open water on the trip all across utah and Nevada , 4 days later it was -14 in Reno and Truckee and below zero all the way to Wells . it was 29 above there , when we got back to Cache Valley Utah everything was frozen .

the bear river

The marsh is where i duck hunt was frozen 12'' thick .I don't have corn to hunt in ,so my hunt was over .It takes 10 min to get to the river and marsh from out home , elk 30 minutes , deer they are everywhere even in our yards , this guys is awesome . Our Hyde Park Local buck ,one of many .

i don't think i could very be with out a Lab , love this guy . I have bad back , neck and ankle , and bad headaches from my neck . I have spent 100's of sleepless hours on the floor scratching and ribbing Jake . He gives ma great confort at those times .very therapeutic , IMO

anti hunters beware , PLEASE don't look !!

I could not do this with out Jake or my Jon Boat !! . My back and neck are messed up .i tried duck hunting with out my Boat last week and was flat on my back for three days . Tried retrieving my ducks with out Jake on day also. One foot of water and two feet of mud , it kicked my butt . some of may remember Cody , he's married now and 6'5'' now. He's such a great young man !!! Jason , Cody and I still make it out for a little fly fishing as much as we can . they both bought homes just a few blocks away.
