Switch cast question

I went out with my new TCX on Subday and had a brain fart. When standing with river left, I make a snap t 45 degree left (downstream). Now with the line in front, the belly if the loop of line to my left and the fly flowing downstream from my right, do I make a switch cast or as Bill Lowe calls it a Sweep-A-D, from my left?

Hope that makes sense. So basically should I make a cast over my right shoulder or my left shoulder after a snap t with river left?

Damn was hoping you'd say left so I would have an excuse for my sucky casting. It seemed as if the line would shoot up an just drop down in a pile. No loop and no real distance.

Now I really feel bad. I took a lesson from Bill Lowe a few weeks ago. We were at Sacramento Bar so I was casting river right. For some reason my brain failed me so when I was out and standing river left, confusion set in.

When I learned to spey cast a couple years ago, I invested in an all day float with Keith Kaneko on the Yuba River.

This gave me ample opportunity to learn from river right and river left, with all kinds of wind, in all different types of wind situations.

Additionally, you will learn how to "fish the fly" in a real-world situation, and have the opportunity to catch fish, as yuba trout often take fish on the swing.

When I was having issues with both River Right and River Left I got lessons from Andy Guibord. He works at Kiene's fly shop and offers casting lessons.

He was extremely helpful.

Get ahold of one of the casting videos and watch them couple of times. Especially focus on watching their hands. Also keeping your hands in the box really helps.
