True, but make sure the road is open. I went last week and the road was closed at the lake because of the Bagley Fire/cleanup. There are lots of good places to fish and camp; Squaw Valley Creek nearby (trib to the McCloud and road was open), upper McCloud, upper Sac, Burney Creek, Hat Creek...

I have heard good things about the Upper McCloud River too off of Hwy 89.

Lower lower Hat creek, stay at CGs along 89 on way to Old Station or Burney Falls area.

at this time of year i would doubt ah di nah would, fowlers ( upper mccloud) most likely not
Was at Sims campground last weekend on the upper sac. Nice flush toilets and good stretch of water to fish. Empty as well. Have fun. Dave

Fowlers on the upper McCloud is a very nice campground with access to decent water for small pretty fish on dries. Simms is nice and so is Castle Crags if you want to fish the Upper Sac.
