I would say that one thing we could all do to improve our results on the water is to work a little more on our fly casting skills.
On larger streams, rivers, lakes and the open saltwater adding some distance to your cast can give you an advantage.
This is by increasing your line speed and throwing a tighter loop.
This is done by doing the double haul.
Also the better you cast long the more chances that on a windy day you will be able to make a better cast, even if it is short.
