My dad and I just got back yesterday from a week in Montana. Indian summer weather may not have been the best for fishing, but it sure was nice to wet wade in late September...and we managed to do okay on catching a few. Lucky to have him still at it at age 86.

Fished the Missouri for a couple of days and then hit the Gallatin and the Yellowstone to round out the trip.

Nice. Inspirational to have your 86 year old father along....

Is the first pic of the first bridge downstream of Holter Dam? (Craig Frontage Rd). It has been awhile since I was there.....

Looks like a place I need to visit. I am going to Montana, Glacier National for 3 weeks next June/July and look forward to finally fishing Montana.

Yep. Wolf Creek Bridge.

I floated that stretch in my 8 foot mini drifter pram from the dam, down under said bridge, and all the way to the take out at "The Trout Shop" in Craig where the restaurant there had a nice steak awaiting me for dinner.....

That drift from the dam to the bridge is beautiful...... as is that river in general.

Great pic and thanks for sharing. Unfortunately, digital photography wasn't available when I was there last..... I didn't do a very good job chronicling my trip in photos back then.....

I can show my family your pic and say..... this is what I saw!
