Went back to some old stomping grounds to visit family. Was able to get out to one of my old spots. Can you guess where I was? I am sure you can. Caught lots of nice smallies as the water was rising. Did you know they control the falls? Water level rose 15 feet in about 2 hours. They turn it down at night when the tourists aren't looking and crank it up again every morning. Those smallies go into a good feed on the rise.

Thanks for sharing zen. I don't see any of the flies, what did you get them on?

Love MidWest smallies!

Love MidWest smallies!

The flies were Clousers in Olive, brown/orange and chart/white. Also some success on black leeches. Deep water, drops off really fast and the current rips. RIO custom T-14 line on a 7wt.

Zen,
Looks like the US side of Niagara. Bet a few guys are revising their bucket lists.
Thanks for sharing.
Best,

Aloha, nice smallies, but think about all the honeymoons you have now ruined. I can hear the newlywed wife grumbling now, "You're going fishing!" Mems

Haha that sound just like my honeymoon (beach condo in Florida). Good luck getting down there though with all the Tourists they have that think locked down tight. They would rather you pay $20 per person for that view. It was easier when I lived in the area 8 years ago. Now there is only one way that requires stealth and two fences.
