After several years of campaigning by Calif spey fishers for lighter rods for the Trinity and other CA rivers, Kerry and the Burkheimer gang have designed two new 6 wts.

The 6115 is an 11'5" 6 wt switch and the 6129 is a 12'9" 6 wt spey. I will have prototypes of both of these rods at the GGACC casting ponds on Sat morning Sept 15 and also at Gary Anderson's spey clave "Two Hands @ Touvelle" on Sat Sept 22. Both rods are designed to cast a 380-390 gr Scandi or a 420 Skagit. The 6129 casts a 6/7 midbelly such as the Ballistic Vector or Nextcast Fall favorite 45.

Come on by and cast the rods if you have an interest.

These are among the finest two-handed fly rods made today.

Many have been waiting for these new smaller sizes to arrive.....

Thanks Cal

The 7115 is sure a sweetie...casts a NextCast FF 45 5/6 quite nicely, too. Too much for the 6115???

Have not yet dialed in all the lines appropriate for the 6115, I would guess that it should be able to handle the NextCast FF 45 in a 5/6, but if your experience tells you that the FF 5/6 rocks the 7115, then maybe you are correct.

I think it was Mike McCune who told me that the 7115 was one of his favorite rods. "Team Burkie" used the 7115 at the Spey-o-rama accuracy shoot-out fun match and I felt it was a great choice for our team.
