Happened to be taking a ride along the EFC on 89 Saturday and ran across the Triploid Transporter making a dump. The cell phones started coming out of pockets and as we made our way back north towards 88, there were a few folks hanging around the bridges, etc. with gear in hand, as if they knew the freezer filler was on it's way.

Ah' the great American outdoor's.http://www.kiene.com/forums/images/icons/icon7.gif

The show does draw a crowd and if you're looking for a place to take junior to catch a few, I wouldn't put it off to long.

Enjoy, Dave

2nd picture is classic... guys so close they could have let the fish drop into their nets. "Freezer Filler" is a great name for the planting truck.

Wonder how long does it take a hatchery fish to adapt to wild water? Can the people chasing planting trucks actually catch many fish or does it take hours for the fish to want to eat or strike?

I hit a hole on the EC a few weeks ago and pulled out nearly 30 fish in 3 hours, 6 of them over 20 inches and one at 24. I think that truck had been there the night before.

Too funny.

Many years ago I was converting a gear buddy to flies. After telling him the entire drive up to the sierras how hard it was we finally hit the water. I was just showing him how to roll the line out and first cast there's a 12" fish.
"This never happens"
Then to keep showing him how to cast it happened again. And again.
"Here you go, your turn"
He rolls it out 10 feet, bobber drifts 5 feet, and wham.
"This ain't so hard"
Couple hours later I had about 100 fish, he had like 50. We find a spot to sit and have a beer when the old man in the house walks down to his lawn.
"You guys getting lots of fish?"
"Yes sir!" we replied
" See those tire tracks next to you?"
"Ummmm, yeah....."
"Stocker truck left about 15 minutes before you got here! Have fun..."

As a side note I did have a big brown come up and slam my indicator. Should have been throwing meat!

I always get a laugh when I read some of the other local non fly fishing boards posting about all the planters they catch. Most of them are what I consider "truck chasers," who fish right next to the bridges where they dump. Its always a treat to see fish on those boards with full fins. To each his own.
