Steve was one fo the best fly fishers I knew personally.
As a young man he lived here in Sacramento and was one of the founding members of the California Fly Fishers Unlimited.
He moved to Florida and worked at Cape Canaveral.
He moved down into the Keyes, living for many years on Marathon Key.
He was a building contractor and a world class fly fisher.
Every spring for years in mid-April Steve and friends put on a big party at his house to celebrate the beginning of the spring Tarpon migration. I was lucky enough to go once with my old friend Neil Hansen of Sacramento. Many famous saltwater fly fishers were there.....
In 1988 Steve, along with his guide friend Nat Ragland, won the famous Gold Cup Invitational Tarpon Fly Tournament.
