The Bagley fire has burned 12,000 acres 7 miles west of Big Bend.
Emergency closures on the Shasta-Trinity National forest are in effect.
The dirt road from Ash Camp past Iron Canyon lake to Big Bend (Pit 5)
is closed. Other roads in the area are also closed.
Fire is only 5% contained as of this morning (Saturday).
As of now, Ah-Di-Na and the road to the conservancy are not affected.
Ash camp is right on the edge of the closure and it's status is uncertain.
I heard a report yesterday that anglers were asked to leave Ash Camp due to the fire,
but when I called the forest service offices in McCloud and Mt Shasta, neither one thought Ash Camp should have been closed.

If you are planning on fishing the Pit or McCloud rivers in the next couple of weeks
check on the status before you come up.

P.S. It is very smoky up here in Dunsmuir.
