October is my favorite month for fly fishing for Steelhead.
You can swing flies on a floating line, especially early and late in the day or with overcast all day and in the shade anytime.
There are lots of multi-day float trips on great Steelhead rivers like the Deschutes, Grande Ronde, and John Day.

We like Morrison's Lodge on the Rogue River for a great place to stay with good drift boat guides and excellent food too. A 4 night, 3 day trip is around $1500 per angler, double occupancy...

You can go on a jet boat trip on the Lower Klamath with the Eureka Fly Shop..

You can do float trips on the middle Klamath and lower Trinity with Jason Hartwick who specializes in two-handed fly fishing.
