The past couple of weeks we've been getting into some fair sized schoolies regularly. The key though has been getting on the water VERY early and hitting a few spots that you know hold fish. It's been just like deer hunting,,, the first hour or so of light before sunrise has been the best. We usually get on the water around 5:30-5:45AM and hit our first wall by 6:00AM. Yes, it's still pretty dark, but those fish are right up against the bank crowding the bait.

After the first few bites the fish are scattered and require a lot of searching. As the day gets brighter the fish seem to drop deeper and dredging the fly is the only way to find them.

Here's a few we've taken in the last couple of days. Most seem to be about this size with a few dinks thrown in too, but over-all fishing isn't bad.
