Today was an amazing day of backyard birding.

I never get tired of seeing these blue beauties. Their language is really interesting too. They must have over 20 diferent calls.

This is the first Yellow bellied sapsucker Ive seen here. And there was a group of three! This one was cleaning up my hornet population.

A family of Ovenbirds came out. They are pretty reclusive and i always feel lucky to capture a shot of one.

And the Yellow Belly

And the Great Crested. This bird has a very tropical sounding voice.

House Wrens have shown up. I have a dense forest on my property and the property next door is a wild field, so Im getting a great variety of open land and woodland birds.

This tiny bird has a gigantic voice!

Chickadee... hundreds of them.

Female Ruby Throated Hummer. I dont usually like pictures with feeders but the detail on this bird was too good to throw out.

I think Ive fished 4 times this summer. The drought has all the water low and warm and weed chocked. I have to drive at least 2 hrs to get out of these conditions. Add to that, im working two jobs. Pretty sad. Hopefully this fall I'll get out.

Nice pics Jay! My best last week was a Wilson's Phalerope and a Peregrine feeding on the beach about 50' from sunbathers! Love your pics.
