I'm pretty new to spey/switch casting so I'd like opinion of some seasoned vets.
I'm looking for a switch line for my tcx 6119.
Want to use it for nymphing.
Been looking at the orvis and rio switch lines.
I'm relatively comfortable throwign a 400 gr skagit flight on this rod if that's any point of reference.
advice is appreciated.

Some would use the Rio Indicator line too.
The Rio Atlantic Salmon/Steelhead line is good too.

If you're looking to do a lot of roll casting and water loading casts with indicator and multi nymph rigs I highly recommend the rio steelhead float line. I use a 7wt on my 6 wt 10' rod and it works awesome!

A 6/7 Rio switch or 8 Steelhead/Salmon would be a nice match for your description.

Thanks for all the input so far.
Any one use the Orvis switch lines?
Any comment on how they compare with the Rio's?

The Orvis are pretty nice, a little light so for your 6 I'd use a 7.

Steve, I've use an Atlantic Steelhead line for years. Get one at least two weights over your switch rod. It can do short spey casts even with a split shot nymphing rig and is excellent for mending.

I agree with Jeff C I have a 7wf on my 5wt performance ply (press powell rod) those lines work great for short swinging and nymphing
