Time to get a new camera, mine died today. Has anyone seen real pictures taken with the Panasonic camera. I like the 60 second lens feature but not sure of the actual picture quality. I have read mixed reviews. Anyone have this camera?

I'm also considering the new Pentax. What you all think?

Hi Scott,

Here are a few informational sites related to this:

http://www.2cameraguys.com/best-waterproof-cameras-2012.htm

Recently I upgraded from the TS2 to the TS4. Photo quality as you may already know is very similar between the TS3 & TS4.

I recently took an unscheduled trip to Michigan and was able to squeeze in some time on the water.

Here are some photos with the TS4: https://picasaweb.google.com/113996534105731472308/Michigan82012?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCLb28tTl0Yn_LA&feat=directlink

I can e-mail you some taken with the TS2 if you'd like. I believe SHig's pics are with a TS2.

This is a link to a recent thread on underwater cameras: http://www.kiene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26175&highlight=waterproof

I have been pleased with the camera. I hope this helps you out. All the best. Good luck.

Mine's a TS1 and going strong. What did you do with your old camera?

Scott compare the TS3 and TS4 the new one has a better GPS and supposedly a better macro. I don't think the megapixels make that big of a difference and it is now cheaper(especially the Orange one) on Amazon. $265
I will probably be getting the TS4 soon. My Pentax that lasted forever got water in it on our last trip. It dried out and works still but it is just a matter of time.

Scott,
I have a TS3. The pictures are not bad for a p&s camera. In my usage, the AWB setting seems to have a cool color cast. PM for sample pics. Or, if you aren't in a hurry we can meet up and you can give it a whirl.

The attached shots are reduced but not color corrected.

I like the Olympus TG-1, here is an example:

http://www.mcvoy.com/lm/the_bob-2012/107.html

If you page through those pictures note that it's two different cameras taking them, though all the under water ones are the Olympus. If you go back to the index and hover over any picture it will tell you which camera (and it tells you below the pics too).

I love my TS4, just wish I could hook up a remote.

I bought the TS 20 for Alaska trip this summer. Chose this one for price. Turns out I loved it for the weight. Fishing vest is heavy enough already. I was disappointed with the picture sharpness. Sent it back to Panasonic and they sent me a TS 4. It is nice with lots of features including GPS, but I'm still not impressed with picture sharpness and it is heavier. Maybe I'm expecting too much for a P&S. I think that I will just go back to the TS 20 because at least it is likely to be in my vest when I need it. Bottom line: the TS 4 is for sale. It is brand new and I have only taken three test pictures with it.

Check out the Canon D20, GiantsFan (Blane) took my advice and bought one. I played with it and I think that it is a very nice camera. Check it out.
