Well I had always wanted to see the Gold Lakes Basin and now I can check that off my list. It is beautiful, but the hoards of trashy people made it a place I wont visit in the summer again.

Only saw 1 fish caught here besides the 6" I caught in 2 evenings fishing. Pretty place though. One night the people in the campsite near me with a bunch of barking dogs, partied till midnight while their dogs tried to eat my food and get in my neighbors tent, I decided to take a few shots of the night sky. Came out pretty good.

left early one day and sneaked off to Davis Lake for some peace and quiet and some fish!

On the way home I hit a small section of the feather before the fire but didn't catch anything here.

Maybe I just hit the area at the wrong time but it wasn't peaceful. Definitely will be heading to Davis again. I heard it was slow but It was nice and I hear there are some bigger fish here. Should have stayed here the whole trip...next time.

Glad you had fun and at least the dogs didn't try and get into your tent. Davis turns back on in September and October. I will probably be going back in early October.
