I went out to SFA by Ice House turn off. Fished from 6:00 to 8:30. Started off with couple of nymphs then switched to dry when the sun went down. No takes, even when they were hitting the surface towards the end, I counldn't get a bite. Water was clear and conditions were good enough to catch fish. I noticed the water felt worm, maybe I should of fished higher, past Kybers

The SHA does get very warm especially lower down below Chili Bar / Placerville so you might be right there.
We should all take the water temp if we can becuase it does tell us a lot.
55-65 I think is a good range for most trout to be comfortable and feeding well.
It can get over 70 degrees in the lower SFA in the late summer.
I would say on an average year the SFA is good June/July?
Maybe some of you guys can post the water temp from your trips?
