Smallmouth bass in moving water - AM & Pm

Large Mouth Bass in ponds, Delta - AM and PM

Trout in streams at the higher elevations - 5,000 to 10,000 feet

Trout in lakes at the high elevations - "" "" "" ""

Pacific surf, bays and inshore for rockfish, perch, halibut - AM & Pm and tides

Salmon in our longer rivers - Klamth, Rogue, Sacramento, Trinity & Feather - early AM

Steelhead in our longer rivers - Valley rivers, Klamath, Rogue, & Trinity - AM & PM

Stripers in the bay, surf and up our valey rivers....AM & PM and tides

I think getting out extemely early is an important thing, especially in the lower elevations with clear skys and the high heat of August. Evenings can be good too.

Mid-afternoons at low elevations is hard on us.

Many of us in the hot valley like to go up into the mountains or over to our coast to get cool mid-summer.

Air quality is better too.
