Actually a question about videos for tying flies.

Is there a video library, or a good video site that you use for tying reference? Have started to tie again and am looking for short cuts to getting the rust off of some of my techniques, as well as possibly learn more about new materials.

Have done the usual searches, but quality seems rather...random?

Any suggestions?

TIA, JGB

Youtube has a tone of stuff on tying flys.

There is a feller named David McPhail that has a great youtube channel.

I use Charlie Craven's FlyBox as my reference. Great step-by-step pictures and he discusses fly proportions. The foundational patterns are here.

Google "Charlie Craven FlyBox" and the link comes up.

As mentioned both You Tube and Charlie Cravens Fly Box. The Caddis Fly Shop in Oregon has a blog with several tying videos, very good for steelhead flies with many by Jay Nichols. There are several others that I use depending on the pattern I am trying to tie, I just do a search for the pattern and can then usually find videos.

Sadly, Harry Mason has passed on however, at this time, the tutorials on his website are still available.

The Harry Mason site is very good. Big thanks to his family for keeping that stuff available. It's very useful information. I refer to it often.

Thanx all!

Searches turned up many options, too many...video/production quality was all over the map.

Some of the suggestions will do great, saved me a lot of screen time!

Cheers, JGB
