"Beyond the Basics"
fly tying classes

Class Notes:
1. Fly tying ability:
a. Have had either a Novice or Beginning Fly Tying Class before, or have been tying and wish to "brush up" on basic skills
b. Equipment and materials - You have your own equipment, and will be responsible for providing your own materials

1. A materials list will be provided before the class to insure that you have the time to obtain them, or have the needed materials in your own inventory

2. Class dates all on Wednesday evenings:
a. Aug. 8, 2012 - Introduction to spinning deer hair poppers
b. Aug. 15, 2012 - Midges - a lesson in proportion
c. Aug. 22, 2012 - Tying with foam - ants, beetles, adult damsels
d. Aug. 29, 2012 - Soft hackles and Spiders

3. All classes will be held at Kiene's Fly Shop, 5:30-8:30 PM

4. For the duration of the class, all participants will get 10% off on all
equipment and materials

5. Class limit, 4-6 people maximum

6. Course objectives:
a. To be introduced to new materials and techniques, ie spinning deer hair, foam, understanding proportion in relation to materials, learning more about history, ie "soft hackles and spiders", etc
b. For students to become more proficient and confident in their tying strengths, and learn how to improve their tying areas of non-strengths
c. Expand the "fly tying family" of friends and colleagues

7. Course cost: $75 cash or check to Tim Au-Young the night of the first class
