Impulse buy on a DSLR. Convinced my wife that this is a 'family use' camera. :)

Some test shots from the backyard:

Nice to have a small P&S digital camera, even better if it is water proof but a DSLR is unreal.

Need to get one.......

One of the biggest things is that you get very fast focus to shoot timing.

Great for jumping fish or action shots.

I would have a super wide and a super long high quality lens too.

That sure is a great little camera. I upgraded from the 3100 to the d7000 and I dont see a whole lot of improvement in quality of photos. Nikon really nailed it with that little camera!

Great pics!

Yep. Hot and crispy fresh off the pan.

I'm amazed at how user-friendly this camera is. Select one of the auto settings, click auto-focus and off you go. Huge difference in pic quality compared to my old point-and-shoot. Still lots to learn but having lots of fun in the process.

Mar I have a 3100 as well, more than enough camera for a hack like me. Enjoy and post pics as you learn!
